Join us to get a first-hand, behind the scenes look at what’s new around the region. We’ll start with a bite to eat, provided by Willis Smith Construction, and a comprehensive tour of Sarasota County Fire Station 8, which includes a special operations building and has five bays for storing vehicles and equipment trailers. It also has workspace for servicing and maintaining equipment. The special operations crew gets called to the scene for vehicle extractions, confined space rescues, hazardous materials cleanups, high-angle rescues and other emergency situations. Then get an inside look at Center Point at Waterside, a fifty acre mixed use project developed by Lakewood Ranch’s CASTO, and hear an update on Benderson Development East District and the highly anticipated Mote Science Education Aquarium. To end the afternoon, we’ll gather at the family fun venue, Popstroke for light bites and drinks!

Participants will drive their own vehicles from location to location. Our schedule will allow for drive-time between stops. Comfortable shoes for walking are recommended.
