About

Resilient Retreat is a new and innovative approach to help those impacted by trauma and abuse. Free evidence-based services are provided to heal the mind, body, and spirit on 84 acres of conserved land in Sarasota, Florida. Resilient Retreat services both survivors of abuse, and first responders/helping professionals who experience compassion fatigue through their work. Resilient Retreat's programming is evidence-based, and the staff and Board of Directors are constantly developing and evaluating programming based on feedback from the community, program participants, and an Advisory Council called VOICES, who provides Resilient Retreat direction and guidance to ensure that the center and programming are created by the community for the community. Resilient Retreat also offers professional training, led by Community Wellness Educator. Topics of training are developed with employers and organizations and crafted specifically to meet the needs of the organization and its employees. Training is offered on a sliding scale so that it is affordable to even the smallest organizations in addition to very large employers. Some examples of training topics are compassion fatigue, employee wellness, self care techniques, inclusion, and most recently, wellness during COVID-19. Resilient Retreat was incorporated as a Florida not for profit on August 10th, 2018. IRS tax-exempt status was approved on March 19, 2019. The retreat center is breaking ground in 2020.
