Goodwill Manasota announces 2023-2024 board of directors

SARASOTA/BRADENTON, FL – Goodwill Manasota is pleased to announce its 2023-2024 board of directors. Steve Boone is the board chair. New to the board this year are James McClure and Laura Ritchey, who join directors Xtavia Bailey, Betsy Benac, Rich Cautero, Debbie Douglas, Rod Hollingsworth, Eric Kaplan, Laurie O’Loughlin, Rob Morris, Allen Weinstein, and Brad West (chair emeritus).

McClure is a senior vice president and senior wealth strategist with Northern Trust. He has more than 30 years of financial service experience with an expertise in comprehensive financial planning, estate planning, life insurance planning, and investment management. Prior to joining Northern Trust, he was with Lenox Advisors in Chicago, Ill., as a managing director. McClure has volunteered with and supported numerous charities focused on at-risk youth and mental wellness, including Mercy Home for Boys & Girls of Chicago, the Sonia Shankman Orthogenic School, and the Mayo Clinic, to name a few.

Ritchey brings a unique combination of strong operations knowledge paired with financial expertise from the diversity of her professional and personal experiences. She began her career in finance before shifting into progressive positions of leadership in supply chain operations, including sourcing, distribution, and strategic transformation. She is currently the COO at Radial, Inc., a leader in e-commerce solutions for brands. Ritchey is passionate about mentoring future leaders, including advancing women in business. She has served on several not-for-profit boards, and chaired boards of organizations including Choices, which provides domestic violence services and shelter, and a local Girl Scout Council.

In the coming year, some of the top priorities to be addressed with the board’s input and guidance will include: strengthening community collaborative efforts to maximize impact; aligning the organization’s operational footprint with the growth in its territory to continue to serve those communities; and upskilling its own workforce and the community.

“Our volunteer board members have diverse professional and life experiences to help inform and guide Goodwill on a wide range of topics. They live and work locally and are dedicated to ensuring that our workforce and the community are being served efficiently and empathetically,” said Donn Githens, president and CEO of Goodwill Manasota. “We welcome Jim and Laura, and look forward to this board’s contributions to Goodwill and our community in the coming year.”
