Job Description

The Twig is a faith based nonprofit organization with a mission to encourage and inspire the lives of children in foster care by meeting their practical needs. The main program at The Twig is the “boutique” shopping experience for youth in care to choose clothing and shoes free of charge. 

We are seeking a store supervisor to oversee daily operations at our Bradenton location. As the store supervisor, you will supervise the daily operational and organizational standards of the store. Your duties will include working in conjunction with the Venice location and the Program Coordinator, undertaking administrative tasks, monitoring inventory levels, leading Saturday shopping days, and providing leadership to the volunteer organizational structure that supports The Twig. 

The ideal candidate must be able to provide customer satisfaction set forth by the mission and vision of The Twig while working with children in foster care, their families, our volunteers, and our donors. In addition to being an excellent communicator, you should also demonstrate outstanding leadership and people skills.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Delivering exceptional service to ensure excellent client satisfaction for youth in foster care and their caregivers while leading shopping days.

  • Provide oversight, motivate and be a Team Lead to the daily/weekly volunteer teams.

  • Training, and oversight to incoming volunteers as needed, with support of the Administrative Assistant.

  • Provide tours/informational sessions as needed for potential and current donors, with the support of the Development Director. 

  • Ensuring store compliance with the standards set by The Twig.

  • Undertaking store administration duties that support the daily, weekly, and monthly needs of store and Program Coordinator.

  • Monitoring inventory levels on a weekly basis and consistent communication with The Twig Warehouse.

  • Weekday Hours: Monday-Thursday 9am-1pm and the 2nd and 3rd Saturday of each month from 8:30am-1:30pm.

  • Participate/attend bi-weekly staff meetings, via Zoom or in person.

Requirements

  • Have the gift of hospitality and a heart for helping children.

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.

  • Excellent communication and people skills.

  • Experience working in a retail environment, ideally in a managerial role.

  • Customer service-oriented with in-depth knowledge of basic business management processes and ability to lead teams of volunteers.

  • Ability to lift 20 pounds.
