Location: Palmetto (100% onsite - core office hours)

Overview:
We’re partnering with a well-established company in the construction industry seeking an experienced Controller to take ownership of the day-to-day financial operations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is confident handling the full spectrum of bookkeeping responsibilities, from payroll and reconciliations to monthly reporting. This position will have at least 1 direct report.

Key Responsibilities:

 - Oversee the bookkeeping cycle, including managing accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.

 - Reconcile the general ledger and maintain accurate financial records.

 - Review account activity to uncover discrepancies and proactively resolve issues.

 - Maintain up-to-date financial data within QuickBooks and other industry-specific accounting platforms.

 - Generate monthly financial statements and reports to support leadership’s strategic decisions.

 - Ensure all financial activities align with internal accounting standards and company policies.

 - Provide necessary documentation and support during audits and financial reviews.

 - Partner with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and increase operational efficiency.

What You Bring:

 - Demonstrated experience and a strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and core accounting principles.

 - Solid experience in payroll processing and general ledger reconciliation.

 - Working knowledge of accounting compliance standards in a corporate setting.

 - Proficiency in QuickBooks and comfort with learning new financial systems.

 - Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to identify and correct errors independently.

 - Capable of working autonomously as well as collaboratively, while managing multiple deadlines.
