About
The Out-of-Door Academy nurtures learners to be their best selves through impactful, challenging, and purposeful growth experiences in a supportive and unique environment. Established in 1924, The Out-of-Door Academy is the second oldest private school in Florida. Although The Out-of-Door Academy has evolved continually during its almost 100 years, two remarkable women, founders Fanneal Harrison and Catherine Gavin, had a profound effect on the school's character, extending even to the present day. Their uniquely progressive mission was to nourish the minds, bodies, and spirits of children. Today, The Out-of-Door Academy serves more than 840 students, pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade on its two campuses. Beginning in August 2024, Out-of-Door will open a third campus east of I-75 on Clark Road. Out-of-Door remains dedicated to its longstanding commitment to the pursuit of knowledge and the development of self-confident, responsible young people.
