Samaritan Counseling Services of the Gulf Coast, Inc. was founded in 1999 when the pastors and church leaders at Church of the Palms in Sarasota realized a clear and urgent need in the community for affordable, faith-sensitive mental health counseling. Today a team of 23 highly trained state-licensed Psychologists, Social Workers, Mental Health Counselors, Marriage & Family Therapists and Interns provide affordable mental health services in 10 locations including 9 churches in Sarasota and Manatee Counties as well as an office in Lakewood Ranch. Samaritan Counseling is a non-denominational, interfaith mental health organization with specially trained counselors who have the ability to include faith in therapy if the client so desires.
