The Sarasota Concert Band will be playing a concert on July 3rd at 6:00 pm at Waterside Place in Lakewood Ranch. The concert will be a patriotic extravaganza in honor of Independence Day 2025. The Sarasota Concert Band is a 40-piece professional Symphonic Band celebrating its 71st year anniversary. The band is made up of Woodwinds, Brass and Percussion and plays a variety of music in an upbeat, fun performance. This concert will feature patriotic music and music from American Composers. Sousa marches, Broadway and just a touch of jazz will round out the Americana theme. Also on the concert, is an exceptional vocal soloist. Kathryn Parks performs regularly in Tampa and St. Pete as well as in Sarasota and Bradenton. She is a singer, actor, filmmaker and an award winning performer. For this concert she will be presenting her beautiful voice on patriotice music such as “God Bless America”, “This is My Country” and more. The concert will also include a moving version of the Independence Day traditional favorite, the 1812 Overture by Tcaikovsky. The Sarasota Concert Band is known for a high level of musical performance in a fun and exciting presentation. There is limited seating available, please feel free to bring a lawn chair. No outside food or drinks permitted.
