Are you ready to step into the spotlight?

The Manatee Performing Arts Center invites community members to audition for our upcoming productions of Prince of Egypt and GUTENBERG! THE MUSICAL! Whether you’re a seasoned performer or new to the stage, this is your chance to become part of something truly special.

Audition Dates & Details Sunday, June 15 & Monday, June 16 7:00–10:00 PM Auditions will be held in Kiwanis Hall (upstairs). Please check in downstairs in the lobby upon arrival. 

We are seeking volunteer actors of all backgrounds, identities, and experience levels to join our cast. All roles are open, and we welcome both familiar faces and first-time performers. 

What to Expect Auditions will consist of a vocal performance, cold readings from the script, and some movement exercises. Please come prepared with a short musical selection (16–32 bars) that showcases your voice. An accompanist will be provided, or you may bring a track. 

You may be asked to read for specific roles or sing in harmony. Movement will be light and focused on expression and timing—comfortable clothing and shoes are encouraged. About the Shows Prince of Egypt (Musical): A sweeping, powerful story inspired by the Book of Exodus and the DreamWorks animated film.

 This musical features breathtaking music by Stephen Schwartz and tells the epic tale of Moses, brotherhood, freedom, and faith. GUTENBERG! THE MUSICAL!:

 A hilarious and clever two-man musical comedy about two aspiring writers pitching their outlandish musical about Johannes Gutenberg to Broadway producers—complete with multiple characters, outrageous plot twists, and plenty of laughs.
