About

Founded in 1978, the mission of the Literacy Council of Sarasota (LCS) is to improve literacy for adults in Sarasota County through personalized, needs-based one-on-one tutoring and small group instruction. Our vision is that all adults in our community have the literacy and English communications skills they need to succeed in life and thrive. Currently LCS helps over 200 local adults each week and has assisted over 3,000 adults in the last five years change their lives for the better through literacy.
